6th Khelo India Winter Games

On 23rd February 2026, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the sixth edition of the Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg.

The L-G described the Games as having evolved from a sporting event into a true national festival celebrating unity and diversity.
He emphasised that the Winter Games revive ideals of peace, equality and camaraderie, strengthening national integration.
Around 1,000 athletes and officials from various States and Union Territories are participating in the four-day event.
Competitions include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding and ski mountaineering.
