Boong Wins BAFTA for Best Children’s & Family Film

On 22nd February 2026, the Manipuri-language film Boong won the Best Children’s & Family Film award at the BAFTA Awards held at Royal Festival Hall, London.

• The film is directed by Lakshmipriya Devi and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Vikesh Bhutani, Alan McAlex, Ritesh Sidhwani and Shujaat Saudagar.
• The cast includes Gugun Kipgen, Bala Hijam Ningthoujam and Angom Sanamatum in key roles.
• The film follows a schoolboy navigating racial tensions and border challenges in Manipur while striving to reunite his divided family.
• It defeated international nominees including Lilo & Stitch, Arco and Zootopia 2.
