NRAI Launches Grassroots Shooting Drive for 7.5 Lakh Youth

On 27th April 2026, the National Rifle Association of India marked its 75th anniversary by launching a nationwide grassroots shooting programme and a digital athlete management app.

The initiative aims to introduce 7.5 lakh school and college students to shooting through a “10-shot experience".
The programme is designed to expand grassroots participation and identify talent ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics.
It will be implemented in partnership with CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, universities, school boards, and state associations.
The newly launched NRAI Athlete App will manage registration, certification, performance tracking, and athlete records.
NRAI described it as making shooting India’s first fully digital sports federation.
A commemorative 75th anniversary logo was also unveiled.
