UP Cabinet Approves Key Projects

On 18th May 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister, approved several proposals related to infrastructure, healthcare, energy, urban transport and panchayat reservation.

The Cabinet approved proposals linked to metro expansion projects in Agra and Lucknow.
In Agra, land transfer was cleared for construction work under the second metro corridor, including stations and elevated sections.
In Lucknow, approval was granted for an MoU between the Centre, the state government and the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation for the Charbagh-Vasant Kunj east-west metro corridor.
To strengthen electricity supply in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the Cabinet approved a 765/400 kV transmission substation in Mirzapur along with associated transmission lines.
