Asian Weightlifting Championships 2026

India secured third place in the women’s team standings and fifth place in the men’s standings at the recently concluded Asian Weightlifting Championships 2026 held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

The championship took place from May 11 to 17 at Mahatma Mandir and was organised by the Indian Weightlifting Federation.
In the women’s team standings, China finished first, followed by Chinese Taipei, while India secured third place.
In the men’s standings, China topped, followed by North Korea and Uzbekistan, while India finished fifth.
China dominated the overall medal tally with 21 gold, 12 silver and 8 bronze medals.
India concluded the championship with 10 medals, including one silver and nine bronze medals.
