Janez Janša Elected Prime Minister of Slovenia

On 28th May 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Janez Janša on his election as the Prime Minister of Slovenia.
- He stated that he looked forward to working closely with Janša to deepen cooperation for the shared prosperity and mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
- Janez Janša was elected Prime Minister by Slovenia’s Parliament in a secret ballot held on 22nd May 2026.
- India and Slovenia maintain friendly bilateral relations, with cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, science and technology, culture and multilateral engagement.
