Janez Janša Elected Prime Minister of Slovenia

On 28th May 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Janez Janša on his election as the Prime Minister of Slovenia.

He stated that he looked forward to working closely with Janša to deepen cooperation for the shared prosperity and mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
Janez Janša was elected Prime Minister by Slovenia’s Parliament in a secret ballot held on 22nd May 2026.
India and Slovenia maintain friendly bilateral relations, with cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, science and technology, culture and multilateral engagement.
