Suman Kalyanpur

On 31st May 2026, renowned playback singer Suman Kalyanpur passed away at the age of 89.

She was one of the most celebrated singers of the golden era of Indian film music and was known for her contributions to Hindi, Marathi and several other Indian languages.
Born on 28 January 1937 in Dhaka, she rose to prominence during the 1950s–1970s.
Her melodious voice closely resembled that of Lata Mangeshkar, leading many listeners to often confuse their songs.
