IIT Delhi Tops India in QS Rankings 2027

On 18th June 2026, IIT Delhi emerged as India's highest-ranked institution in the QS World University Rankings 2027, securing the 118th position globally, its best-ever performance and the highest rank ever achieved by an Indian institution in the rankings.
Key Points:
- Employer Reputation: One of the most significant achievements for IIT Delhi was seen in the Employer Reputation criterion, as it improved 11 ranks and entered the global top-39.
- Employment Outcomes: Another major improvement was recorded in Employment Outcomes, where IIT Delhi climbed 60 positions.
- Only Three Indian Institutions in the Global Top 200: Apart from IIT Delhi, only two other Indian institutions featured among the world's top 200 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2027 - IIT Bombay (134th) and IIT Madras (170th).
- Steady Improvement: Over the past four years, IIT Delhi has improved its global ranking by 79 places, from 197th in QS World University Rankings 2024 to 118th in 2027.
