23rd Commonwealth Games Open in Glasgow

On 23rd July 2026, King Charles III officially declared the 23rd Commonwealth Games (2026) open in Glasgow, Scotland, marking the city's second time hosting the Games after 2014.
- The opening ceremony was held at the OVO Hydro and showcased Scotland's cultural heritage through music, dance, and storytelling.
- Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain led the 126-member Indian contingent during the Parade of Nations, with Mirabai carrying the Indian Tricolour and Lovlina carrying the Commonwealth Baton.
- India will compete in 13 disciplines, including para sports.
- The 2026 Commonwealth Games feature athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations and territories competing in 10 sports.
