‘One Herb, One Standard’ Initiative Renewed
- 13 Aug 2026
On 12th August 2026, the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare renewed their partnership to establish harmonised scientific standards for medicinal plants under the ‘One Herb, One Standard’ initiative.
- The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) and Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) renewed their MoU for another three years.
- The initiative aims to establish a common and scientifically reliable standard for the same medicinal plant used across Ayurveda, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, Unani and Homoeopathy.
- The harmonised standards will cover aspects such as quality, purity and standardisation, reducing ambiguity for manufacturers, exporters, laboratories and regulators.
