ICMR’s SHINE Programme

The Department of Health Research - Indian Council of Medical Research (DHR-ICMR) successfully concluded the second edition of ICMR-SHINE (Science & Health Innovation for the Nextgen Explorers) on 11–12 August 2026.

SHINE stands for Science & Health Innovation for the Nextgen Explorers.
The programme covered 83 locations across 31 States and Union Territories.
It targeted students from Classes 9 to 12 and promoted hands-on exposure to biomedical research.
Students participated in laboratory visits, scientific demonstrations, poster walks and practical activities.
ICMR launched the SHINE website and announced a nationwide school competition on public health challenges.
