Revamped India Code Portal

On 13th August 2026, the Union Law Ministry launched the revamped India Code Portal to simplify access to laws.

• The portal introduces AI-assisted search, semantic search and speech-based search for easier access to legal information.
• It provides multilingual access to laws in all 22 languages listed under the Eighth Schedule.
• Users can access amendments, legislative history and links between Acts and subordinate legislation.
• India Code integrates with the e-Gazette ecosystem and provides QR-enabled access to legislative documents.
• The portal serves as a unified repository of Central, State and Union Territory laws and regulations.
