India-US Navy EOD Exercise 2026

On 14th August 2026, the eighth India-US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Exercise concluded at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, Kerala.

The bilateral exercise strengthened professional cooperation, operational synergy and interoperability between the Indian and US navies.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams exchanged expertise and best practices on specialised maritime operations.
Subject Matter Expert Exchanges covered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), render-safe procedures and mine neutralisation.
The exercise also focused on unmanned underwater systems for maritime EOD operations.
Cross-training included wreck location and salvage, specialist equipment use and slithering operations.
