National Departmental Summit on Water 2026

On 2nd September 2026, PM Narendra Modi called for AI-based water data governance at the National Departmental Summit on Water.

The two-day summit was organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
PM Modi called for integrated water data collection, analysis and utilisation.
He suggested using AI with uniform formats for efficient water data management.
He urged regular reviews to ensure time-bound implementation of summit recommendations.
Urban Local Bodies were urged to prepare for rising water demand from urbanisation.
