Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2025

The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2025 was published in December 2024.

The index is published by Germanwatch, NewClimate Institute, and Climate Action Network International

  • The index aims to track the climate action progress of the world’s largest emitters across emissions, renewables, energy use, and climate policy.
  • The CCPI uses a standardized framework to compare the climate performance of 63 countries and the EU, which together account for over 90% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
  • The climate mitigation performance is assessed in four categories:
    1. GHG Emissions,
    2. Renewable Energy,
    3. Energy Use and
    4. Climate Policy.
