World Giving Index (WGI) 2024

The World Giving Index (WGI) 2024 was released in August 2024 by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to assess global trends in generosity across 142 countries, focusing on charitable behaviours such as helping strangers, donating money, and volunteering time.

Key Findings

  • Indonesia ranked 1st globally as the most generous country with a score of 74, followed by Kenya (63) and Singapore (61).
  • The bottom four countries in the 2024 index are Poland, Japan, Cambodia, and Lithuania.
