Global Wind Report 2025

The Global Wind Report 2025 was released by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) in April 23, 2025

The Wind report highlight the trends, targets, and challenges in global wind power development with a focus on meeting 2030 net-zero and Paris Agreement climate goals.

Key Findings of the Report

  • Global wind capacity is projected to meet only 77% of the 2030 targets, jeopardizing the goal to limit global temperature rise to below 2°C (preferably 1.5°C).
  • In 2024, 117 GW of new wind capacity was installed globally, slightly up from 116.6 GW in 2023, bringing the total global capacity to 1,136 GW.
