World Air Quality Report 2024

The 7th edition of the World Air Quality Report 2024 was released by IQAir on March 11, 2025.

The air quality report analyses the data from over 40,000 air quality monitoring stations across 8,954 locations in 138 countries, territories, and regions to assess PM2.5 air pollution levels.

Key Finding of the Report

  • Only 17% of global cities met the WHO’s PM2.5 guideline of 5 µg/m³.
  • The report highlights that most of the global population is breathing polluted air, with only 12 countries, regions, or territories reporting PM2.5 concentrations below the WHO’s recommended limit.
