State of Global Climate Report 2024

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) released the “State of the Global Climate 2024” report in March 19, 2025.

The report offers a detailed analysis of global climate trends and their environmental impacts amidst rising concerns over climate change.

Key Findings (Global)

  • 2024 is projected to be the warmest year on record, with global mean surface temperatures reaching 1.55 ± 0.13°C above pre-industrial levels.
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) (2023 concentration) reached a new record high of 420.0 ± 0.1 parts per million (ppm).
    • This is 2.3 ppm more than in 2022 and 151% of the pre-industrial level (1750).
    • Corresponds to about 3,276 gigatonnes (Gt) of CO₂ ....
