Global Investment Trends Monitor Report 2024

The Global Investment Trends Monitor 2024 was released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The report analyses the worldwide trends in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) with special focus on developing economies and SDG-aligned sectors.

Global Findings/Trends

  • Global FDI flows increased by 11%, reaching USD 1.4 trillion in 2024. When excluding flows through European conduit economies, FDI actually declined by around 8%.
  • FDI in developed economies rose by 43%, primarily due to multinational routing through conduit economies like Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the UK.
