MeitY Launches ERNET India's Integrated Web Portal for Educational Institutes

On 4^th January, 2024, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), unveiled ERNET India's newly developed integrated web portal for educational institutes.

• Integrated Web Portal Launch: ERNET India's integrated web portal is designed for educational institutes across the country. The portal provides services such as domain registration, DNS, WaaS, and LMaaS.
• Template-Based Customization: Users have the flexibility to choose from a variety of templates tailored for schools, colleges, and universities.
• With a single click, they can customize the selected template to create their own website and Learning Management System (LMS). The portal aims to simplify the process of website and LMS development.
• Utilization of Emerging Technologies: The web portal has been developed using open-source software and incorporates emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance functionality and user experience.
• ERNET India's Role: ERNET India, operating as a not-for-profit scientific society under MeitY, serves as the exclusive domain registrar for educational and research institutes with domain names ending in 'ac.in,' 'edu.in,' and 'res.in.'
• Diverse Services Offered: ERNET India plays a crucial role in providing various services, including web accessibility, campus Wi-Fi services, smart classrooms, and connectivity through Terrestrial and Satellite-based systems to educational and research institutes nationwide.
