Desi Oon Wins Big at Annecy 2025

On 18th June 2025, Indian animation film Desi Oon, directed by Suresh Eriyat, won the Jury Award for Best Commissioned Film at the Annecy International Animation Festival in France, marking a historic moment for Indian animation.

Desi Oon secured the prestigious Jury Award at Annecy 2025, one of the world’s most celebrated animation festivals, bringing international acclaim to Indian animation.
The film was also crowned Best Film at WAVES 2025—the World Audio, Video and Entertainment Summit—India’s premier animation and design awards platform held in Mumbai.
WAVES 2025 operates under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Create in India Challenge, an initiative aimed at nurturing and showcasing India’s creative and animation talent.
