PM Reviews Roadmap for Next-Generation Reforms

On 18th August 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi to review the roadmap for Next-Generation Reforms, with a strong focus on improving ease of living, enhancing ease of doing business, and driving inclusive prosperity across India.

The session came soon after Prime Minister Modi’s Independence Day address, where he promised a “Diwali gift” for the people in the form of significant GST reforms and a lighter tax burden on households and businesses.
The leaders deliberated on measures aimed at boosting India’s competitiveness by improving infrastructure, streamlining regulatory processes, expanding trade opportunities, and modernising taxation frameworks to ease compliance for businesses.
Special emphasis was placed on ensuring that reforms in areas like taxation, trade facilitation, and digital governance reduce burdens on small enterprises and middle-class families while attracting global investment to support India’s growth story.
