Veteran Actor Achyut Potdar Passes Away

On 17th August 2025, veteran actor Achyut Potdar passed away at the age of 91 in Thane, Mumbai, leaving behind a rich legacy of over four decades in Hindi and Marathi cinema as well as television.

Over the span of his career, Potdar acted in more than 125 Hindi and Marathi films and nearly 100 television serials, making him one of the most prolific and recognizable character actors in Indian entertainment history.
Potdar became a household name among younger audiences for his role as the stern yet humorous engineering professor in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster 3 Idiots, with his dialogues becoming part of viral memes and popular culture in India.
