Dubai Launches Unified Freezone Passport System

  • 19 Aug 2025

On 18th August 2025, Dubai introduced the “One Freezone Passport,” a licensing reform that allows companies to operate across all of the emirate’s free zones under a single license, streamlining business operations and reducing regulatory costs.

  • The initiative, announced by the Dubai Free Zones Council, eliminates the need for multiple permits, enabling businesses to expand across the emirate without undergoing repeated incorporation processes.
  • The reform directly supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s GDP by 2033 through innovation, investment attraction, and economic diversification.
  • By consolidating licensing procedures and compliance checks, the new system reduces administrative hurdles, allowing businesses to scale more quickly and at lower operational costs.
