Press Sewa Portal

On 19th August 2025, Press Registrar General of India (PRGI) announced that the newly launched Press Sewa portal will serve as a single-window digital platform to simplify and accelerate the registration process for newspapers and periodicals across the country.

Press Registrar General of India explained that the Press Sewa portal is designed to enhance transparency and efficiency, reduce delays in approvals, and improve the overall ease of doing business for publishers while addressing long-standing challenges faced by the industry.
He emphasized that the initiative would bring clarity and speed to the registration system, ensuring that publishers no longer face unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles while seeking approvals for their newspapers and periodicals.
The announcement was made during an interaction with publishers at Vartalap, a programme organized by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Hyderabad under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
