‘Mhaje Ghar Yojana’

On 4th October 2025, Union Home Minister inaugurated Goa’s ‘Mhaje Ghar Yojana’ and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹2,452 crore, in the presence of state and central dignitaries.
- The ‘Mhaje Ghar Yojana’ grants home ownership rights to thousands of Goans whose properties were previously entangled in multiple legal disputes, reflecting PM Modi’s citizen-centric governance model.
- The scheme has already provided home ownership rights to 10 lakh citizens in Goa, marking a significant milestone in the state’s social and urban development.
- Goa’s rapid economic growth was underlined, with per capita income rising from ₹1,12,073 in 2014 to ₹3,57,000 in 2023–24, showcasing the state’s development trajectory under progressive reforms.
- The Home Minister noted the historic inclusion of tribal communities in Goa’s Legislative Assembly following legislation passed on 5 August 2025, ensuring political representation for the first time.
