India, Malaysia Begin Harimau Shakti Exercise

On 5th December 2025, India and Malaysia began the fifth edition of Exercise Harimau Shakti at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan to strengthen interoperability in UN-mandated operations.

  • The joint exercise, scheduled from December 5 to 18, aims to enhance coordinated responses between the two armies during sub-conventional operations under the UN Chapter VII mandate.
  • The exercise includes training in counter-terrorist operations such as cordon-and-search drills, search-and-destroy missions, and heliborne operations designed to simulate real-world conflict scenarios.
  • Participants will engage in Army Martial Arts Routine, combat reflex shooting sessions, and yoga-based conditioning aimed at improving agility, resilience, and battlefield readiness.
  • The forces will jointly rehearse critical procedures for securing helipads and executing casualty evacuation operations in hostile terrains, focusing on safety and rapid medical support.
