On 4th February 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Yumnam Khemchand Singh on being sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Manipur.

• The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Lok Bhavan.
• The swearing-in followed the revocation of President’s Rule in Manipur.
• Deputy Chief Ministers Nemcha Kipgen (from the Kuki community) and Loishi Dikho (from the Naga community) reflect an emphasis on inclusive representation.
• Nemcha Kipgen is the only woman minister in the new cabinet, while Dikho is a senior Naga leader and three-time MLA from Mao constituency.
