National Weightlifting Championships 2026

On 4th February 2026, Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu delivered a record-breaking performance at the National Weightlifting Championships 2026, shattering three national records in the women’s 48kg category.

Mirabai lifted a total of 205kg, setting new national records in snatch, clean and jerk, and overall total.
She opened with 89kg in snatch and followed it with 116kg in clean and jerk, comfortably clinching the gold medal.
The total marked a 6kg improvement over her previous personal best of 199kg, achieved at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Forde.
