BIOFACH 2026: Meghalaya Makes Debut

Recently, Meghalaya marked its debut at BIOFACH 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, positioning itself as an emerging organic sourcing destination from India.

BIOFACH is regarded as the world’s leading trade fair for organic food and agriculture, with participation from over 90 countries. India was recognised as the Country of the Year.
The state showcased its integrated organic ecosystem, including certification systems, farmer collectivisation, branding initiatives and export-oriented value chains.
Officials highlighted Meghalaya’s community-driven organic development model supported by institutional mechanisms, sustainability practices and global market linkages.
Meetings were held with international buyers, certification agencies and organic traders to explore procurement partnerships and collaborations.
