M. M. Baig

In February 2026, Veteran filmmaker M. M. Baig, known for his association with films such as Razia Sultan and as director of Chhoti Bahu (1994), was found dead at his residence. He was in his 70s.

Baig had reportedly been unwell for some time.
He began his career assisting filmmakers J. Om Prakash, Vimal Kumar and Rakesh Roshan on films including Aadmi Khilona Hai, Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharnii and Karz Chukana Hai.
As an independent director, he helmed Masoom Gawah (1990, unreleased) and Chhoti Bahu (1994).
