Initiatives Launched at Gujarat University

On 5th March 2026, Chief Minister inaugurated several initiatives at Gujarat University to strengthen innovation and women-led entrepreneurship.

• The Gujarat University Convention Centre was named Vidyagauri Nilkanth Sabhapuram in honour of Vidyagauri Nilkanth.
• Vidyagauri Nilkanth was the first woman graduate from Gujarat, inspiring generations of women to pursue higher education and leadership roles.
• The fifth edition of herSTART was launched by the Gujarat University Startup and Entrepreneurship Council.
• The programme supports women-led startups through:
  • Incubation support
  • Mentorship and training
  • Market access opportunities
• The initiative aims to connect women entrepreneurs with emerging technologies and strengthen the startup ecosystem.
