India Wins Record Third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

On 8th March 2026, India national cricket team won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for a record third time.

India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India set a massive target of 256 runs.
Chasing the target, New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets and was named the Player of the Match.
India opener Sanju Samson completed a remarkable turnaround in form to be named the Player of the Tournament.
India became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times.
It is also the only team to win the title consecutively twice.
