India Wins Record Third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

On 8th March 2026, India national cricket team won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for a record third time.
- India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
- Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India set a massive target of 256 runs.
- Chasing the target, New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs.
- Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets and was named the Player of the Match.
- India opener Sanju Samson completed a remarkable turnaround in form to be named the Player of the Tournament.
- India became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times.
- It is also the only team to win the title consecutively twice.
- The victory highlights India’s strong cricketing talent and dominance in international T20 cricket.
