International Women’s Day 2026

International Women’s Day was observed on 8th March 2026 across the world.

The theme for 2026 is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”
The theme emphasises strengthening women’s rights, ensuring access to justice and accelerating action towards gender equality.
The observance recognises women’s achievements across social, economic, cultural and political spheres.
In New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu participated in International Women’s Day celebrations at the Manekshaw Centre.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development organised a women-led Shakti Walk along Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
The walk brought together women from diverse sectors to highlight their role in building a progressive and inclusive India.
International Women’s Day was officially recognised by the United Nations in 1977.
The day serves as a global platform to promote gender equality and equal opportunities for women and girls.
