Swapan Sadhan Bose

On 12th May 2026, sports administrator Swapan Sadhan Bose, popularly known as Tutu Bose, passed away in Kolkata.

  • He was one of the most influential sports administrators in Indian football and also served as a former Rajya Sabha Member.
  • Tutu Bose first became a portfolio holder of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club in 1989–90, beginning one of the longest presidential tenures in Indian club football.
  • He also served as a member of the FIFA Club Task Force, giving Indian football representation in global football administration.
  • In June 2017, he stepped down from the presidency due to health reasons, ending a significant era in Mohun Bagan’s administration.
  • However, he returned in May 2022 after being re-elected as president, reflecting continued trust and support from club members.
