Centre Launches Nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan

On 1st June 2026, Union Agriculture Minister launched the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan at Ramsia village in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh to promote soil conservation and scientific farming practices among farmers.

- Main Objective: The campaign aims to protect agricultural land, improve soil health, and encourage sustainable farming practices.
- Focus on Soil Conservation: Farmers will be educated on soil testing, Soil Health Cards, balanced fertiliser use, and water conservation techniques.
- Promotion of Natural Farming: The initiative encourages reduced dependence on chemical fertilisers and greater adoption of natural farming methods.
- Institutional Participation: The campaign will involve agricultural universities, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and public representatives.
- Awareness Against Fake Inputs: Farmers will be trained to identify counterfeit fertilisers, seeds, and pesticides.
- Government Scheme Access: The campaign will help farmers avail benefits under schemes such as PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Crop Insurance Scheme, Kisan Credit Card, and farm mechanisation programmes.
