Centre Expands PM-SETU Across 200 ITI Clusters

On 7th July 2026, the Centre approved the nationwide rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) across all 200 identified ITI clusters to strengthen industry-oriented skill development.
Key Points
- Strategic Investments: The National Steering Committee approved Strategic Investment Plans worth ₹1,237.58 crore for five ITI clusters in Odisha, Gujarat and Telangana.
- Implementation Support: The committee approved measures to simplify implementation, strengthen industry participation, increase PSU involvement and expand the institutional ecosystem.
- Odisha Cluster: Government ITI Barbil will serve as the hub institute with Jindal Naveen Awasar Limited as the Anchor Industry Partner.
- Gujarat Cluster: Government ITI Surat will function as the hub institute with ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India as the Anchor Industry Partner.
- Telangana Clusters: Three ITI clusters were approved with Apollo MedSkills, SSISPL and Neuland Foundation selected as Anchor Industry Partners.
