MoHUA Advises 4-Month Extension for RERA Projects

On 31st July 2026, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) advised all State Real Estate Regulatory Authorities (RERAs) to grant a four-month extension in the registration and completion timelines of eligible real estate projects affected by disruptions arising from the ongoing West Asia situation.
- Under Section 6 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, project registration may be extended in cases of Force Majeure, including war affecting project development.
- The extension applies to registered real estate projects whose completion date, revised completion date, or extended completion date falls on or after 28th February 2026.
