MoHUA Advises 4-Month Extension for RERA Projects

On 31st July 2026, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) advised all State Real Estate Regulatory Authorities (RERAs) to grant a four-month extension in the registration and completion timelines of eligible real estate projects affected by disruptions arising from the ongoing West Asia situation.

Under Section 6 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, project registration may be extended in cases of Force Majeure, including war affecting project development.
The extension applies to registered real estate projects whose completion date, revised completion date, or extended completion date falls on or after 28th February 2026.
