Cabinet Extends PM-KISAN Scheme Till 2031

On 31st July 2026, the Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme for 2026–27 to 2030–31 with a financial outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore.

- Objective: The scheme aims to provide assured income support to eligible farmer families through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to help meet agricultural and household expenses.
- Benefit: Eligible landholding farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments, transferred directly into their bank accounts.
- Implementation: The scheme is implemented through a technology-driven DBT mechanism using Aadhaar-based authentication and digital beneficiary verification.
