Global Dryland Congress 2026

On 10th September 2026, the Global Dryland Congress 2026 began in New Delhi, focusing on sustainable dryland agriculture.

• The three-day Congress will continue from 10th to 12th September.
• It is jointly organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).
• The theme is “Transforming Dryland Agriculture with South-South Cooperation.”
• Over 800 scientists, policymakers, farmers and development partners are participating.
• The Congress marks 50 years of ICAR-ICRISAT partnership.
