Indian Women's Shooting Team wins Silver Medal at Asian Games

On September 20, 2026, the Indian team comprising Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan, and Vidarsa K. Vinod won the silver medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Team event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 held in Japan.

• Sonam, Elavenil, and Vidarsa scored a total of 1897 points to secure second place in the 16-team competition.
• China won the gold medal, India secured silver, and host nation Japan won bronze in this event.
• The silver medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Team event marked India's first medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.
• Following the team event, Elavenil Valarivan also won the silver medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Individual event with a score of 252.4 points. Japan's Hinata Taichi won gold with an Asian Games record score of 253.0 points.
