Delhi Government–ICCR Cultural Cooperation Agreement

On 28 September 2026, the Delhi Government and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance international cooperation in culture, tourism, and academics.

Key Facts

International Platform: Established and emerging artists from Delhi will get opportunities to participate in ICCR’s ‘Horizon Series’ and international cultural festivals.
Artists’ Directory: A unified directory of artists associated with performing arts, literature, sculpture, textiles, architecture, culinary arts, and handicrafts will be prepared.
Cultural Exchange: Foreign artists will participate in Delhi’s cultural-tourism festivals; joint exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, and conferences will also be organised.
Academic Collaboration: Study camps and orientation visits will be organised for foreign students, and major educational institutions of Delhi will be promoted in the ICCR network.
Implementation: A joint committee will prepare a minimum annual activity plan every year; the agreement will remain effective for 5 years and can be extended by another 5 years.
