On 22nd April, the Earth Day was celebrated across the globe. The 2024 Earth Day theme is 'Planets vs Plastics', highlighting the urgent need to address plastic pollution.

Earth Day, first celebrated in 1970, grew from a movement sparked by a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California.
In 1990, Earth Day went global, with 200 million people in 141 countries participating, leading to the 1992 UN Earth Summit.
In 2016, the Paris Agreement on climate change opened for signature on Earth Day.
