Tele MANAS App Upgraded on Mental Health Day

On 10th October 2025, Union Health Minister unveiled major enhancements to the Tele MANAS app on World Mental Health Day, aimed at expanding inclusive access to mental health services across India.

  • The upgraded Tele MANAS app now features a multilingual user interface, accessibility tools for visually impaired users, an AI-powered chatbot named Asmi, and an emergency response module, enhancing both reach and usability.
  • The platform will now be available in 10 additional regional languages – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi – in addition to English and Hindi, enabling broader access for diverse linguistic communities.
  • Accessibility features are specifically designed to make the platform inclusive for persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups, ensuring equitable access to mental health support across the country.
  • The AI-powered chatbot Asmi and emergency response modules provide real-time guidance and crisis intervention, allowing users to receive timely support for mental health challenges.
  • Actor Deepika Padukone has been appointed as the Mental Health Ambassador.
