Key Points
- Foodgrain Production Estimates: Kharif foodgrain production is projected at 1,741.44 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) and Rabi foodgrain production at 1,745.13 LMT, showing an increase of about 46 LMT (2.8%) in Kharif and 53 LMT (3.2%) in Rabi compared with last year.
- Data Sources: The estimates are based on state data, remote sensing inputs, crop weather monitoring, and yield data from Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs). The Third Advance Estimates will include summer season production.
- Rice Production: Kharif rice production is estimated at 1,239.28 LMT, higher than 1,227.72 LMT in 2024–25, while Rabi rice production is projected at 167.20 LMT.
