On 2nd May 2026, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration set a Guinness World Record by unfurling the world’s largest underwater national flag.
- The Tricolour measured approximately 60 × 40 metres and was deployed at Radhanagar Beach, Swaraj Dweep.
- The operation involved over 200 divers and multiple agencies, including the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
- The record was officially confirmed by a Guinness adjudicator.
- The feat highlights the islands’ growing prominence in adventure tourism and marine activities.
- The administration plans further record attempts to promote the region globally.
