WHO Declares Ebola Outbreak as Health Emergency

On 17th May 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a ‘Public Health Emergency of International Concern’ due to rising deaths and cross-border transmission risks.
