India, Seychelles Sign 9 Agreements

On 28th June 2026, India and Seychelles signed nine agreements and announced several development initiatives across defence, healthcare, digital payments, agriculture, maritime cooperation, space and infrastructure during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's State visit.
Key Points:
- Defence Assistance: India gifted a Fast Patrol Vessel to Seychelles, handed over 10 utility vehicles and five Laser Radial class boats, completed the refit of PS Zoroaster, and announced the upgradation of a Dornier aircraft with a glass cockpit.
- Nine Agreements Signed: The agreements cover diplomatic training, UPI digital payments, affordable medicines under the Jan Aushadhi Scheme, agricultural research and education, extradition, recognition of Indian seafarers' certificates, an umbrella Line of Credit for infrastructure projects, cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space and hospital development.
- Climate Cooperation: Seychelles joined the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).
- Diplomatic Milestone: Both countries launched a commemorative logo to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.
