Bharat Taxi Cooperative Mobility Platform

On 27th June 2026, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah launched ‘Bharat Taxi’, the country’s first cooperative-based mobility platform in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Bharat Taxi is a cooperative-based ride-hailing platform that aims to empower drivers by making them shareholders (Sarathis) instead of service providers.
Over 7 lakh Sarathis have joined the platform, while 37 lakh customers have already availed its services.
The platform will provide loans, insurance, fair earnings, and business expansion opportunities to Sarathis under the cooperative model.
Bharat Taxi aims to expand to more than 500 cities and towns across India within the next two years, with services launching soon in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Kolkata.
